My particular areas of expertise are weddings-Day of Coordinator (Wedding Director package), Partial Services, Full-Service Packages, tented garden weddings, corporate events and Sandals and Beaches honeymoons, destination weddings, anniversaries, vow renewals and vacations.

The best recommendations I advise on your wedding are:

Keep in mind that the wedding is a celebration of spending the rest of your lives together and your happiness is the most important thing. Focus on enjoying the experience together.  Remember that the gathering of your family and friends is an amazing party and may be the last time everyone will be together for your special occasion.  It’s a journey and at the end of the evening it’s about your future as husband and wife.

Three tips for couples:

  • Develop a realistic budget together

We all have seen the statistics on the average cost of a wedding.  In the U.S. The Knot annual survey of couples put the average cost of weddings at $40,176 in 2017.  Some couples get overwhelmed at the beginning with so much to do and so many details involved in planning a wedding, not to mention family and friends giving so much advice.  Take time to sit down and discuss realistically how much you want to spend on your wedding and honeymoon, whose going to pay for what and develop a spreadsheet and/or budget tracker.

There are so many wedding resources and apps to assist you in developing and tracking your budget.  As a wedding planner and having planned my own wedding, this will save you a lot of stress and anxiety.  You shouldn’t feel you have to go into deep debt to have your wedding.  Save as much as you can and spend wisely.  Shop online for good deals and quality wedding items; for example invitations, favors, attendants’ gifts, accessories, decorations, linens, candles and a host of other items.

  • Determine what’s the most important to you as a couple

Couples have specific wedding vendors and items that they prefer over everything else.  It may be the photographer, flowers, catering, honeymoon, open bar, venue, beach wedding, destination wedding, wedding planner, etc.  Prioritize what’s the most important item that is a “Must Have” for your wedding, and then list each item by “Important” down to the “Least Important”.  It will help you focus your efforts and spending on what you both want the most, and if you’re on a budget, it’s so important to have your wedding beautiful and affordable.  If you don’t need that classic car or crystal 4 foot vases filled with Calla Lilies or Cymbidium Orchids as centerpieces, and substitute flowers in season, you may still have that Kleinfeld or Vera Wang wedding dress to die for.

  • Hire a professional wedding planner,  if only a Day of Coordinator to ensure your day goes smoothly and stress free

Why go through unnecessary stress?  How will you handle last minute mishaps or emergencies if it happens prior to or at your wedding?  Hiring a professional wedding planner is getting the biggest bang for your buck.  Professional wedding planners can save you time, money and stress because they have lots of  resources and vendors they have built relationships with that they can refer to couples on all types of budgets.  Professional wedding planners can help you with design and creativity for your wedding, and assist with searching and referring you to online websites f0r wedding items and ideas.  Professional wedding planners direct the rehearsal and are there for you on the day of the wedding before the ceremony to the end of the reception.  Professional wedding planners have a portfolio of wedding packages to choose from to customize your specific needs.  Wedding planners, who are also called wedding coordinators or consultants, perform a variety and scope of responsibilities as a normal part of their job.  The money that professional wedding planners save you, from referring you to vendors within your budget and to online resources, can save more than their fee.  P
